After much discussion, we have decided to place the podcast on hold for the time being. We are not saying it will never be back, but at this point, neither of us have the time to put on the quality show we would like to do. In the future, we certainly may reassess and go forward, but for now, we are on indefinite hiatus. To those of you who listened regularly and enjoyed the show - Thanks for your support! We hope to be back in the future.

2 Guys and a Film will return on April 12.

We will still feature reviews of many of the latest theatrical releases, but we will begin also highlighting more DVD releases and marathons. We also want to solicit user input for films to review.

The reason for this change is simple: We just don’t want to review a new film that you most likely have very little interest in just so we have a theatrical review for the show.

We want our DVD reviews to provide an opportunity to discuss films that otherwise may be overlooked.

Again, we will continue our theatrical reviews. However, when Duke of Hazzard 17 is released, we will most likely choose a DVD that week.

So, we’ll see you back here on April 12.

Episode #29: Batman / Shyamalan Marathon Awards

On this week’s show, we have another entry in our series of “Remame Roundups” - Batman. These films are less remakes though than they are reinterpretations of the same character. Batman has had numerous incarnations on the big screen, from the intentional camp of the 1966 film, to the stylized vision of Tim Burton’s 1989 version and Christopher Nolan’s more serious/grounded Batman Begins. Plus, we run over the best and worst from our M. Night Shyamalan marathon. Finally, we have a mini-review of Norbit, though no doubt you have all already rushed out to see this cinematic gem. The film deals with the government’s counterintelligence efforts during and after World War II. It also focuses on Damon’s character and the effects of a life of secrecy. Episode #20: The Nativity Story

The Nativity Story is the second major motion picture in recent history to attempt to reach the nation’s Christian audience by realistically portraying a famous Biblical event. Mel Gibson’s 2004 film, The Passion of the Christ was a hugely successful endeavor, fueled largely by huge church audiences that packed movie theaters across the country. It was heralded by many for accurately depicting the final hours of Jesus Christ. The Nativity Story tells the other end of the story, beginning with a young Mary becoming “engaged” to Joseph and ending with the birth of Jesus. It is a familiar story and one that has been told in innumerable ways throughout the years. Does The Nativity Story effectively convey the “Christmas Story” or is it merely a rehash of familiar events? Download Episode #20 to hear our thoughts.
